What is NDA?

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) which is conducted twice a year. The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force train collectively before they go on to their respective service academy for further pre-commission training. Eligibility

  • Unmarried male candidate minimum age 16.5 years and maximum age 18.5 years at the time of filling the form.
  • Army Wing of NDA: Students need to clear 12th Class exam conducted by a State Education Board or a University or 10+2 pattern of school education
  • Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Students need to clear 12th Class Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education.

Stages of Exam :

  • The exam will be conducted offline
  • All the questions would be objective type (MCQ’s). There would be negative marking also
  • The written exam consists of two papers Paper I and Paper-II.
  • Both papers will be taken on the same day.

SSB (Services Selection Board) is the selection board that conducts an Intelligence and
Personality test to assess the candidate’s potential as a future officer in Indian Armed Forces.
The interview sights at picking individuals with Officer-Like Qualities. The SSB is based on general aptitude, psychological test, team skills, confidence level, leadership quality, and social skills. The entire process lasts for 5 or 6 days. There is no maximum limit for SSB interviews.
