The Synergy Exam 2024 is scheduled to take place in April 2024. Registrations for this exam are currently open, allowing interested candidates to sign up and secure their participation.

Important Dates for Synergy Exam 2024

For candidates seeking DNS Sponsorship through the SYNERGY GROUP, the registration deadline is set for February 24 at 6:00 PM.

The exam date for those appearing for the DNS sponsorship exam is scheduled for February 25, 2024.

Additionally, candidates interested in exams for Deck Cadet, Engine Cadet, GP Rating, GME Sponsorship, and Trainee General Steward must complete their registration by February 6, 2024, at 6:00 PM.

The date of examination for the above-mentioned candidate will be between – 25 to 30 April 2024

Exam fees of Synergy Exam

₹2,000 + GST.

Synergy Exam 2024 registration

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are required to complete the registration process on the official website. The organization will provide updates about the exams on this platform. To register, candidates must first create an account on the website, after which they can access and apply for the exam through the ‘Synergy Application’ section.

Synergy Exam 2024 Eligibility Criteria

For Engine Cadets Exam Eligibility

• Should have been born after 1/January/1997
• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
• Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII
• In case of Diploma in Marine Engineering – Should have an aggregate of 60% aggregate.
• Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class X or Class XII or equivalent.
• Should have completed pre-sea training; or
• Should be in 3rd yr or appearing in final semester of Marine Engineering at Pre Sea training in a Maritime training
  institute or have completed the Marine Engineering course. Also, should have 50% aggregate in 3rd and final year.

For GME Entrance Exam Eligibility

Entrance Exam for Sponsoring of Mechanical engineering Graduates for Graduate Marine Engineer (GME) program 

• Should have been born after 1/January/1996
• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
• Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII
• In case of Diploma – Should have aggregate of 65%
• Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class XII or equivalent.
• Should have completed B TECH / BE in Mechanical Engineering with 50% aggregate OR
• Should be appearing in final semester exam B TECH / BE In Mechanical Engineering. Kindly note that in this case,
  selection is subject to meet the criteria of 50% in final results.

For Deck Cadets Exam Eligibility

For XII qualified candidates:

• Should have been born after 1/January/1999
• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII
• Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII and 50% mark in English.
• Should have completed pre-sea training from DG approved institute.
• Should be appearing in the final semester exam of the course in Maritime Training Institute

For B.Sc. (Nautical Science)

• Final year aggregate of 55% and should have 50% in English.
• Candidate pursuing 2nd year of B.Sc. Nautical Science in recognized marine institutes can also apply

For GP Rating Exam Eligibility

• Should have been born On or before 01 Jan 2005 and After 01 Jan 1999
• Should have scored 50% in Class X (50% in Final year if Diploma from ITI) and 50% in English
• Should have completed pre-sea training; or
• Should be appearing in the final semester exam of the course in Maritime Training Institute

For Electro Technical Officer Exam Eligibility

• Should have been born after 1 Jan 1989

• The candidate should have completed class 12th with an aggregate of 60% with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as
  major subjects.
• The candidate should have completed a bachelor’s degree in BTech/BE in Electrical Engineering, Electronics &
  Communications, Telecommunication or a related field or a Diploma in Engineering with at least 50%
  aggregate.
• Candidates pursuing final year are also eligible to apply but selection will be subject to meeting the criteria of 50%
  aggregate in final year.

For BSc. Nautical Science Exam Eligibility

• Should have been born on or before 01 Jan 2006 and After 01 Jan 1999
• Should have scored 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class XII or Equivalent
• Should have scored 60% Overall Aggregate in Class XII or Equivalent
• Should have obtained 50% marks in English in Class X or XII or Equivalent
• Should have passed Class XII or Equivalent OR
• Should be appearing in class XII exam in year 2023.

For Engine Cadets Exam Eligibility

• The examination will be conducted Online at our registered test center.
• The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based
  questions (Marine Engineering subjects) and 100 English and aptitude-based questions.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
  No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
• Testing Areas for knowledge: (100 MCQ)- (Marine Engineering subjects)
  o Marine Engines.
  o All Marine Auxiliary machinery.
  o Machine design and drawing
  o Basic Ship construction and Naval architecture.
  o Fire Safety- Knowledge of basic firefighting equipment
  o Materials and metallurgy
  o Basic Electricity and Electronics.
  o Other questions in knowledge area will be from the approved syllabus of BE (Marine Eng.) / B.E (Mech.),
  as the case may be.

For GME Entrance Exam Eligibility

• The examination will be of the online format of duration 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The examination will be of the objective type comprising of 200 questions. A total of 100 questions will test
  knowledge and 100 questions to test English and aptitude.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark and every question answered incorrectly is awarded 0.25
  negative mark. Un-attempted questions are not marked (no plus or minus marks).
• Testing Areas for knowledge: (100 questions)
  o Syllabus Based B TECH/ BE Mechanical engineering (Mechanical Engineering – Gate Syllabus)
• Other questions in knowledge area will be from the approved syllabus of BE /BTECH Mechanical as the case may
  be.

For Deck Cadets Exam Eligibility

• The examination will be conducted Online at our registered test center.
• The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based
  questions (Marine subjects and 100 English and aptitude-based questions.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
  No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
• Testing Areas for knowledge:
  o Terrestrial Navigation.
  o Knowledge of navigational instruments.
  o Navigation- Charts, Lights, shapes and sound signals, concept of time, position plotting fundamentals.
  o Basic Ship construction and Naval architecture.
  o Fire Safety- Knowledge of basic firefighting equipment
  o Basic cargo work- knowledge of terms.
  o Basic terms associated with stability, understanding of common terms associated with ships.
  o Meteorology and Oceanography
• Questions in subject knowledge areas will be from the approved syllabus of DNS / BSc Nautical Science

For GP Rating Exam Eligibility

• The examination will be conducted Online at our registered test center.
• The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based
  questions and 100 English & aptitude-based questions.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
  No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
• Section A – Navigation, Cargo handling and safety
  o General ship knowledge
  o Nautical terms and parts of a ship
  o Basic Navigation – Terms used, helm orders, elementary rules of the road and buoyage, Basic flags and
  their usage, watchkeeping and reporting, identify navigational equipment and their uses, mooring and
  anchoring terms and procedures, emergency, and actions.
  o Cargo Handling and stowage at basic level- cargo handling equipment, stowage, securing of
  cargo/containers, hold preparation, stores handling.
  o Lifting equipment and safety – Basic firefighting equipment, safe working loads of equipment, rope work,
  safe working practices.
• Section B – Machinery Operations, workshop practice and safety
  o Machinery and emergency equipment in a ship and their purpose.
  o Basic workshop practice – Turning, fitting, arc and gas welding/ cutting, drilling etc. Identification of tools.
  o Safety precautions during work, identification of alarms.
  o Level measurement, lubrication and watch keeping.
  o Basic electrical safety, electrical hand tools for maintenance.
• All questions in the knowledge areas will be from the approved DG syllabus for GP Ratings course (Training Circular
  1 of 2018)

For Electro Technical Officer Exam Eligibility

• The examination will be conducted Online at our registered test center.
• The Examination duration will be 3 hours (180 minutes).
• The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based
  questions (Electrical/Electronics Engineering subjects) and 100 English and aptitude-based questions.

• The examination will comprise of 200 MCQ ( Multiple Choice Questions ) inclusive of 100 Knowledge based
  questions (CBSE /ICSE syllabus ) and 100 English and aptitude-based questions.
• Each question answered correctly is awarded 1 mark. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answer.
  No marks are awarded or deducted for un-attempted questions.
• Testing Areas for Section A- Knowledge:
  o Questions based on class XII Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from the approved syllabus of CBSE /
  ICSE board.
