Admission Process for the International Maritime Institute in 2024
IMI ensures that all its pre-sea courses are officially approved by the Directorate General of Shipping. The BTech program is not only recognized by the AICTE but is also affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. Admission to any pre-sea course is contingent upon a candidate’s performance in the respective entrance examination. Meeting the age criteria and medical standards established by the Institute is imperative for prospective students. IMI has a team of qualified medical professionals and specialized laboratories dedicated to Merchant Navy regulations, adhering to the ILO Convention 147 Seafarer’s Medical Examination requirements. Prior to enrollment, all candidates are required to successfully complete a comprehensive medical examination and mandatory tests.

Any degree from a recognized University with 50 % marks. (OR) Mariners holding the following professional qualification obtained after a minimum duration of study-cum-training of 6 years after 10+2 leading to a) Master Foreign Going Certificate of Competency. (OR) b) First Class Motor or Steam or Combined (Chief Engineer) Certificate of Competency issued by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India or its counterparts in other countries
