1) Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the prestigious President’s Colours to the Tamil Nadu police.
➨ It is a recognition of the State police’s commendable service and many achievements.

2) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras launched the ‘Nilekani Centre at AI4Bharat’ to promote the state of Indian language technology with the intention to create a societal impact.

3) Shushila Devi Likmabam clinched a silver medal in the women’s judo 48kg final, giving India its seventh medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022.

4) Savitri Jindal, the Chairperson Emeritus of OP Jindal Group, has surpassed China’s Yang Huiyan to become Asia’s richest woman, as per the real-time Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

5) Paris Olympic Games 2024 Organisers have revealed “Ouvrons Grand Les Jeux”, meaning “Games Wide Open”, as the shared slogan for the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.

6) Sanjay Arora, a senior IPS officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, took charge as the commissioner of Delhi Police.
➨ Rakesh Asthana, an IPS officer from the Gujarat Cadre, has retired after nearly 38 years of service. He was succeeded as commissioner of the Delhi Police by Sanjay Arora.

7) Rajasthan Grameen Aajivika Vikas Parishad (RGAV) signed an MoU with the Telangana government’s Stree Nidhi Credit Cooperative Federation to set up ‘Rajasthan Mahila Nidhi’, a financial institution for women, in Rajasthan.

10) Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 44th Chess Olympiad in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
➨The world’s largest team chess competition, with players from 187 countries is being organised at a hotel in Mamallapuram, south of Chennai.

11) The Indian Navy received two MH 60R multi-role helicopters from the United States at Cochin International Airport.

12) Reliance Industries (RIL) partnered with Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to elevate the performances of Indian athletes, support the national sports federations and build the credentials of India as a global sporting nation.
➨ Under this partnership, RIL & IOA will together establish the first-ever India House at Paris Olympics 2024.

13) India’s Harjinder Kaur claimed the bronze medal in the women’s 71kg weightlifting competition after a dramatic climax at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

14) Vijay Kumar Yadav handed India its 2nd judo medal of Commonwealth Games 2022 as he beat Petros Christodoulides of Cyprus in men’s 60kg judo tie to clinch the bronze medal.
