Is There a Difference Between CAT Exam Eligibility and IIM Eligibility?
Although the IIMs conduct the CAT Test, the eligibility requirements for the two organisations are not equivalent. Each candidate should be aware of the following small contradictions while pursuing this field:
- Both the CAT Test and IIM eligibility have no age restrictions.
- The CAT entrance exam recognises 2-year bachelor’s degrees, however the IIMs do not. IIMs only accept applicants with a 3-year bachelor’s degree for their management programs.
- Even though work experience is not required for the CAT, it is given some weight in the IIMs’ admissions process.
- The CAT Test Eligibility and the IIM Eligibility are not inconsistent with one another, aside from this.
CAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 – Marks Calculation
Each institution or university where the applicants received their degrees will have its own method for determining the final score.
Marks will be converted into percentages for CGPA and grades in accordance with a procedure authorised by the relevant institution or university.
In a different scenario, if no institution or university offers any plans for change, the percentage will be determined by dividing the student’s CGPA by the maximum CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.
